Where is District 5?

San Francisco's redistricting task force drew new boundaries for the city's 11 electoral districts during spring 2012, based on data from the 2010 US Census and input from many neighborhood groups. The new boundaries for District 5 include some additional blocks in the areas of Cathedral Hill, Duboce Park/Lower Haight, Parnassus Heights, the south-east corner of Golden Gate Park, and the Westside Courts public housing in the Western Addition. District 5 lost some blocks between 17th and 19th Avenues in the Inner Sunset, and in the Lower Pacific Heights/Japantown area. You can download a detailed map of D5 precincts.
